The 14^th annual meeting for Nordic Association of Electricity Traders (NAET) was on the 3rd of June held in Oslo, Norway.

At the general meeting new members were elected to the board.

Board member Frederik Husebye from Norsk Hydro stepped down from the board last autumn. The Board thanks Frederiks contribution to the work of NAET.

Chairman Petri Ev�soja from Fortum Power and Heat was not up for election this year and continues his appointment. Ordinary representatives in the board, and not up for election this year and continuing their appointments, are Peter Hjorth Andersen from DONG Energy, Thomas Nilsson from Barclays Bankand Arnt Pedersen from SKS Kraftsalg.

Re-elected ordinary representative in the board is Pernilla Ademar from Kattegatt Energy Services.

New ordinary representative in the board is Knut Stensr�d from Merrill Lynch Commodities.

Deputies in the board are Jens Nordberg from G�teborg Energi Din El and Hermund Ulstein from Markedskraft.

At the conference part of the annual meeting the theme was �The Road from Recession� Invited guests came from Statkraft Markets and DnB NOR Markets.

NAET meets with SSM to discuss information policy

NAET (The Nordic Association of Electricity Traders) had a meeting with SSM (Swedish Radiation Safety Authority) on the 6^th of October. SSM was represented by the the Director of Communication, Anneli Hällgren and the Head of Division for Reactor Technology, Lars Skånberg. NAET was represented by chairman of the board, Petri Eväsoja (Fortum Power & Heat) and board member, Jens Nordberg (Göteborg Energi Din El).

The meeting was originated from the incident of information leakage the 14^th of September in connection with the decision that the reactors Forsmark 3 and Oskarshamn 3 may be restarted and operated until 30^th of September 2010. The information leakage was not regarding the outcome of the decision, but rather regarding the timing of the decision. NAET expressed criticism regarding how this matter was handled and stressed the fact that it affects our member's everyday life. The meeting did not, however, focus on that incident but rather on the importance of all market participants receiving this kind of information at the same time.

We believe that SSM takes NAET’s concern regarding this issue very seriously. SSM will go through their routines carefully and see if there is room for some improvements, but also stressed that there will always be room for mistakes due to human error. SSM was also concerned that so many market participants frequently call them to get members of the staff to reveal too much information. NAET want to emphasize that a prerequisite for a well functioning market is that all market participants receive information like this at the same time. We believe that all attempts to obtain non-official information from SSM is in fact attempts to obtain inside information and all trading based on this information is strictly prohibited.

The 13t^h annual meeting for Nordic Association of Electricity Traders (NAET) was held on the 14^th of May held in Copenhagen, Denmark.

At the general meeting new members were elected to the board.

Petri Eväsoja from Fortum Power and Heat was elected chairman for a period of two years. The previous chairman Fredrik Öhrneman, from E.ON Energy Trading, stepped down after working 3 years as chairman and several years as treasurer. The Board thanks Fredrik’s contribution to the work of NAET.

Ordinary representatives in the board, and not up for election this year and continuing their appointments, are Pernilla Ademar from Shepherd Energy and Frederik Husebye from Norsk Hydro.

Re-elected ordinary representatives in the board are Peter Hjorth Andersen from DONG Energy and Thomas Nilsson from Barclays Bank. New ordinary representative in the board is Arnt Pedersen from Salten Kraftsamband.

Deputies in the board are Knut Stensröd from Merrill Lynch Commodities and Jens Nordberg from Göteborg Energi Din El.

At the conference part of the meeting, the theme was “Commodities - what happens next”. Invited guests came from Nasdaq OMX, Merrill Lynch and Copenhagen Business School.

Latest MIFID memorandum

The purpose of this memorandum is to give an up-date on the implementation process of the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive 2004/39/EC (“MiFID”) in the Nordic countries, concerning the parts of MiFID relevant to the activities carried out by energy companies.
