The Nordic Association of Electricity Traders (NAET) is a non-profit organization committed to strengthening and improving the Nordic power market. Founded in 1996 and currently representing more than 40 member companies like power producers, distributors, industrial players and financial institutions.

NAET focuses on two key priorities: market liquidity and transparency. To influence and support market development, we actively engage with key exchanges and participate in industry discussions. Additionally, we maintain an ongoing dialogue with authorities and legislators to advocate for a well-functioning and competitive market.

Ethical Rules

At meetings, physical or digital, organized by NAET, the rules and guidelines determined by the authorities apply, at any given time.  In addition NAET works to promote a transparent market.

These rules aim to prevent problems in advance in NAET's operations. Our goal is to maintain the traditional credibility of the Nordic electricity market and promote the full functioning of the markets and impartial competition.

The purpose of these rules is to secure that members of NAET trade and act according to the highest standards of honesty, fair competition and high ethics. The purpose is also to provide the members of NAET an insight to competition law and to secure that competition laws are not violated in NAET's operations.

These ethical rules are approved by the Board of NAET and reviewed if necessary.

Do not engage in activity that would amount to market abuse or market manipulation.
All applicable laws, regulations and rules shall be strictly followed.

Competition laws
High ethics require compliance with competition law, other relevant legislation and Nord Pool's rules and ethical guidelines. These laws must be obeyed in detail in all proceedings of NAET. Member companies should contact their own corporate lawyers if more details legal problems occur.

FAQ

Sign up to the association is open to any company actively involved in trading of physical and/or financial power in the Nordic power market and is registered as a participant at a market place for electricity that is approved by the Nordic Association of Electricity Traders.

Fill in this form to apply for membership. To create users for already existing member companies, please contact your company admin.

NAET has member meetings twice a year. The annual meeting takes place in the springtime and we have one meeting in the fall. We always strive to bring up exciting and relevant themes and invite interesting speakers. During the meetings, company representatives get a chance to raise their voice and discuss related issues and meet a large part of the Nordic Power market.

The annual fee is presently 2000 € per company, and cover costs for member meetings (conferences), travel expenses for board members, consultancy and secretary costs and legal advice.
